A pricing email asks the reader to make a commercial decision, which is a lot to ask of a format that cannot hold a comparison table legibly. The 2 designs in this collection work by narrowing rather than by presenting everything.

Recommend, do not enumerate

The most effective structure is a recommendation with a reason: which plan suits this reader, why, what it costs, and one button. Where a comparison is genuinely needed, two or three tiers with one differentiating line each, and a link to the full table.

A four-column feature matrix rendered in an email is unreadable on a phone and usually collapses into nonsense in the single-column reflow.

Be explicit about the money

The failures in this category are almost all about clarity of terms:

  • Price, with the billing period stated — per month, per year.
  • Whether tax is included.
  • When the first charge happens.
  • What happens at the end of a trial, with the date.
  • How to cancel.

That trial-expiry line is the one most often omitted and the one that generates the most chargebacks.

Upgrade prompts

An upgrade email works when it is triggered by the reader hitting a real limit, and it fails when it is sent on a schedule. Name the limit they reached, state what the higher tier changes, and give one action.

Note on indexing

This collection holds only two templates, which is too thin to justify as an indexable listing page — it is deliberately excluded from the sitemap and marked noindex, while remaining reachable and useful for anyone browsing.

Using these templates

A small set, built around a comparison table that stays legible when it collapses to one column. Checks: is there a recommendation rather than a matrix, is the billing period stated, is any trial expiry date explicit, and is cancellation mentioned.

Common questions

How many plans should an email show?
Three at most, and two is often better. Email is a poor container for a comparison table, so the useful job is narrowing to a recommendation and sending the reader to the full comparison on the page.
Should the email include a full feature comparison?
No. Feature matrices are unreadable at email width and unusable on a phone. Show the differentiating line for each tier and link to the comparison.
